Why do people write poems about Ravens sidewalks? What is matter with writing about Green Beans? Ok so maybe that logic isn't very sound and doesn't satisfy the curious mind wondering why in the world would someone write about green beans.

In my first book on the Poems about collection, I did write a poem about Green beans, (Green Bean Casserole to be specific). So the question most certainly comes up as Why? My poems are generally motivated by my kids and this poem is no exception.

See this is one of those things that Dad's do being goofy around the kids. To tease them and be goofy with them, green beans is often an answer I give to questions. "Dad, what is for dinner?" "Green Beans." "Dad, what are you ordering for food?" "Green Beans." "Dad, what is the meaning to life?" "Green Beans."

As you can see it would be almost impossible for me to not write about green beans. Yes, my hope would be the poem can entertain and make other kids laugh around the world. But, come on, Dad's out there can relate to the feeling I get when my kids laugh and say they can't believe Dad wrote a poem about green beans and is actually trying to sell it to people. It will be a laugh and a smile for generations in my family, hopefully.

So why write a poem about green beans? Well, green beans of course.
